Amazon UnBoxed Event: New Live Shopping

Last week's Amazon Ads unBoxed event in Nashville was a goldmine of advertising innovations. While headlining announcements included Campaign Manager (merging the ads console and Amazon DSP into a single ad platform) and the new AI-powered Ads Agent, what really caught my attention was Amazon Live and the talk on "Retail-tainment: Creating community through live commerce, content, and creators." The session spotlighted Amazon Live - a creative format that combines immersive storytelling, social interactivity, and the ability to seamlessly shop, fitting perfectly into any full-funnel campaign.

You can catch Amazon Live host and creator Natalie Negrotti's livestream from the event to see how brands are tapping into Amazon Marketing Cloud signals to inform their live shopping campaigns. If you're considering ways to enhance your media mix in 2026, Amazon Live deserves serious consideration - especially as part of Amazon's broader push toward AI-powered, full-funnel advertising solutions.

  • Do you call clients? I remember back in the day getting phone calls on the drive home or randomly if something needed to happen. But now as a by-product of the post-pandemic work world, unless there is a scheduled call this hardly ever happens. Kind of funny right?

Honestly unless there is a bill that needs to be paid do you?

  • Is Publicis The Only One Happy Right Now? With headlines galore of Publicis winning business, M&A activity with other large agencies desperate for revenue it’s really weird right now. It seems like Publicis has been able to evade this loss by scaling remember back in the day getting phone calls on the drive home or randomly if something needed to happen. Beatbox In Talks To Be Acquired For $700M

This is super random to include, but I think it’s an interesting story about the power of packaging and differentiation. The RxBar packaging craze or when High Noon introduced vodka instead of malt liquor (White Claw) markets changed. Similar to Poppi it begs the question of how dominate these massive CPG brands are that have existed for centuries.

Here is the timeline for Beatbox over the last 15 years:
  • 2011: BeatBox launches in Austin with one rebellious concept: 𝘛𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘣𝘰𝘹𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩-𝘈𝘉𝘝 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘺 𝘱𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘩.

  • 2014: Shark Tank. Asked for $200k. Mark Cuban drops $1M for 33% (valuing the brand at ~$3M)

  • 2021: ~$18M revenue (+160% YoY).

  • 2022: 1.7M+ cases. Shifts into AB’s beer wholesaler network → +1,200% YoY in California.

  • 2024: Estimated $175M in revenue, per WSJ.

From ~$3M → ~$700M in ~10 years. WILD. Four Loko’s (Original recipe) was INSANE. It created a new category, then white claws, then high noon’s, now it’s Beatbox’s turn in the limelight. Ultimately these new drinks are confirming the old days of crushing a rack of beers is not what Gen Z is into. It will be interesting to see how big beer companies adapt as people keep drinking less and prioritizing these unique drinks over beer.
